(0 reviews)

The interior of the BYD Dolphin G plug-in hybrid hatchback designed for Europe was exposed in China ahead of launch. It adopts a minimalistic design language with a few physical buttons.

The BYD Dolphin G was recently revealed in official images as the first model developed specifically for Europe. It will be among the first cars that will be assembled in Szeged, Hungary. The prices of the Dolphin G will be revealed in June, with deliveries scheduled for the fall of 2026.

The Chinese media Autohome shared a spy photo of the Dolphin G’s interior. It has a floating touchscreen and an LCD instrument panel on the dashboard. The car also has a distinguishing three-spoke steering wheel with a gear shifter mounted behind it. The center tunnel has a block of small physical buttons, including a driving mode selector and a music volume lever, and a hazard lights button.

Other features of the Dolphin G’s interior include a single cup holder, a hidden compartment, and a transformable section right next to the mentioned block of physical buttons. Its air vents align with the BYD Atto 3 crossover. The rest of the cabin is well-hidden under cloth.

It was previously revealed that the BYD Dolphin G’s length and width are 4,160 mm and 1,825 mm, respectively. For clarity, it is 130 mm shorter and 55 mm wider than the European variant of the Dolphin BEV. The exterior styling of this urban driver adopts thin headlights, an active air intake, and two airflows in the front bumper. It also has semi-hidden door handles and darkened D-pillars.

There is no information about the Dolphin G’s powertrain. It will most likely adopt a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with a peak power output of 72 kW (97 hp) and an electric motor for 145 kW (194 hp). Two battery variants will be available for 7.8 kWh and 18 kWh. The combined peak power output is 156 kW (209 hp).

The Dolphin G can potentially become the spearhead of the brand’s development in Europe. According to China EV DataTracker, BYD’s foreign sales reached 135,098 vehicles, up 70.8% Year-Over-Year.
