The BYD’s Denza Z tri-motor electric roadster with a peak power output of 1,180 kW (1,582 hp) will launch globally at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK on July 9. The Denza Z speeds up to 100 km/h in 2 seconds and boasts active suspension.

Denza shared a poster on Weibo social media, stating that the Z electric car’s global launch will be held at Goodwood. The brand’s officials called it “the century-old hall of racing,” stating that the Denza Z will share the stage with legendary supercars from around the world.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is held in Goodwood House, West Sussex. There is also a historic 3.8-km Goodwood Circuit located near the mentioned estate. This racing circuit broke ground in 1947. The 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from July 9 to July 12.

Previously, the Denza Z revealed core specs during the domestic homologation process in China. It is a two-door electric car with four seats. It is available as a hardtop or a convertible with dimensions of 4780/1990/1350 mm. The wheelbase reaches 2,780 mm. The curb weight of the Denza Z lies between 2,220 and 2,290 kg, depending on the modification.

The Denza Z adopts three electric motors. A front TZ220QYD e-motor produces 500 kW (670 hp) while two TZ226XYG electric motors in the rear boast a combined power of 680 kW (912 hp). The combined peak power of this powertrain reaches 1,180 kW (1,582 hp). The Denza Z with a large rear spoiler has a top speed of 350 km/h.

There is no information about the car’s battery capacity. It was previously claimed that the Denza Z will speed up to 100 km/h in 2 seconds. It will boast the DiSus-M magnetorheological (MR) active suspension, flash charging, a steer-by-wire chassis, and the DiPilot 5.0 assisted driving system.

According to China EV DataTracker, Denza delivered 15,620 units domestically in May, up 7.3% Year-Over-Year. It is the first truly successful month for the brand this year as it stopped falling Y-O-Y.
