The second-gen BYD’s Denza D9 minivan became officially available with the new Dark Gold extra color option that costs 30,000 yuan (4,415 USD). This MPV adopts BYD’s second-gen battery with flash charging technology, the DiSus-C suspension, and the DiPilot 5.0 assisted driving tech.
The second-gen Denza D9 was launched in China on May 1 with a price range between 359,800 and 469,800 yuan (52,940 – 69,125 USD). It began deliveries on May 7. According to China EV DataTracker, Denza handed over 6,145 units of this MPV to customers, domestically.
On July 7, it got the new color scheme called Dark Gold. Its core features include a blackened body with glossy golden trim accents, a shield-shaped grille, and the genuine gold-plated emblem on the front. The dimensions remained the same at 5250/1960/1900 mm.
The car adopts black multi-spoke rims with golden caps. Other features include a continuous taillight unit and a gold stripe that crosses the car’s body. The car adopts a roof spoiler and a golden accent in the rear bumper. Most of the Denza D9 Dark Gold’s badges are finished in black. However, the Flash Charging badge kept the silver color to highlight the BYD’s latest tech.
As mentioned, the Dark Gold color option is available for 30,000 yuan (4,415 USD). It means the Denza D9’s top-trim level’s price reaches 499,800 yuan (73,540 USD).
We will remind you that the Denza D9 is available with BEV and PHEV powertrain options. The all-electric model offers FWD for 340 kW (456 hp), while the AWD variant has a combined peak power of 410 kW (550 hp). Both modifications are equipped with a 115 kWh LFP battery that could be charged from 10% to 97% in 9 minutes. The range lies between 750 and 800 km under CLTC conditions.
The plug-in hybrid version of the D9 adopts a 1.5-liter turbocharged ICE for 115 kW (154 hp). The entry-level model offers a single e-motor for 200 kW (268 hp). There is also an AWD trim available with an additional e-motor in the rear axle producing 45 kW (60 hp). Thanks to a 66.5 kWh battery, the car can run up to 400 km in EV mode. This version also supports the flash charging tech.
