BYD launched Linghui M9 ride-hailing MPV for 27,770 USD in China

(0 reviews)

BYD launched the Linghui M9 plug-in hybrid MPV for ride-hailing services in China as the Shenzhen-based automaker aims to mitigate the “cheap” label in consumers’ minds. The new model starts at 188,800 yuan (27,770 USD).

The BYD Linghui M9 stands on the BYD Xia minivan, which sells outside China as the BYD M9. The modification for ride-hailing services could be distinguished by a large grille with chrome-plated elements. Other highlights include a single taillight unit, power sliding doors, and 18-inch wheels. The dimensions of the Linghui M9 are 5200/1970/1805 mm. The wheelbase reaches 3,045 mm. This minivan is 55 mm longer than the BYD Xia.

The interior of the BYD Linghui M9 adopts seven seats with a 2+2+3 layout. The entry-level car has a 12.8-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster. The top-trim car boasts a 15.6-inch main screen. Another highlight is the DiLink 100 infotainment system with a four-zone voice assistant and Huawei HiCar.

The top-trim Linghui M9 adopts heated, ventilated, and massaged seats in the front and second rows. There are folding tables for the second-row passengers. The Linghui M9 also has 12 speakers. Its chassis offers a continuous damping suspension system. Previously, the Linghui M9 reached dealers in China.

Interior of the Linghui M9

The Linghui M9 adopts the DM-i plug-in hybrid powertrain. It comprises a 1.5-liter turbocharged ICE for 110 kW (147 hp) and an electric motor for 200 kW (268 hp). It speeds up to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds. Thanks to a 26.6 kWh LFP battery, the Linghui M9 will be able to run up to 118 km on a single battery charge. Thanks to a 50-liter fuel tank, the mixed range reaches 1,105 km.

The BYD Linghui M9 is available for purchase for 188,800 – 199,800 yuan (27,770 – 29,390 USD). This MPV is available with up to a 5-year loan. It offers a lifetime warranty on non-commercial electric components for the first owner, 6 years or 150,000 km for the whole vehicle, and 6 years or 600,000 km for commercial electric components.

China EV DataTracker shows that BYD sold 376,990 units globally in May 2026. It is the first time the automaker has stopped falling Year-Over-Year since September 2025.
