BYD’s premium electric vehicle brand Denza has revealed its upcoming lineup of pure-electric large SUVs in official regulatory filings. The newly registered variants include the five-seat Denza N8 and the longer six-seat Denza N8L. Both models aim to expand the brand’s presence in the competitive family SUV segment.
The filings show that both body options share a 3,075 mm wheelbase. While the six-seat model is 5,200 mm long, the five-seat variant measures 5,150 mm, making it exactly 50 mm shorter. Width and height remain identical across both versions at 1,999 mm and 1,820 mm, respectively.
Powertrain and battery
The electric powertrain lineup features a high-performance tri-motor setup alongside two single-motor options. The top-spec tri-motor variant combines a 270 kW front motor with two 310 kW rear motors, producing a total system output of 890 kW (1,193 hp). Meanwhile, the single-motor versions offer peak outputs of either 320 kW or 370 kW.
Power is exclusively provided by the second-generation Blade Battery developed by FinDreams. This new battery supports fast charging, designed to handle rapid energy transfer even in harsh conditions. Official claims state that the new battery reduces charging times and minimises range drop in temperatures as low as -30°C.

Smart driving integration
For driver assistance, the SUVs use the God Eye 5.0 smart driving platform to handle highway and urban navigation. The system relies on an end-to-end large model trained on real-world driving data to make automated path choices. A roof-mounted LiDAR sensor and front bumper millimetre-wave radars feed environmental scanning data to the vehicle’s computer.
Customisation options include different 20- or 21-inch wheel designs, body-colored roofs, custom brake callipers, and integrated electronic side steps. The rear of the vehicle features a distinctive dual-strip light bar that matches the design of recent plug-in hybrid SUVs.
Market sales momentum
The new pure-electric models expand the brand’s lineup to target a wider demographic of EV buyers. For comparison, the current plug-in hybrid versions retail from 299,800 yuan (44,071 USD) up to 349,800 yuan (51,421 USD).
Denza delivered 18,631 vehicles in June 2026, marking a monthly increase of 19.3% and a year-on-year growth of 31.1%. This sales volume secures the brand a 1.2% total market share in China, according to China EV DataTracker. The addition of these pure-electric variants is meant to maintain this sales growth when they launch later this year.
